Booking Terms & Conditions

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Holiday at beautiful North Stradbroke Island. Please read these terms and conditions carefully as these conditions incorporate the basis on which bookings at Stradbroke Island Coastal Homes are accepted. We want you to have a wonderful stay without any problems so please read below. Failure to abide by these Terms and Conditions permits the owner or the agent to refuse the key, amend the rental or apply additional charges and/or terminate the occupancy.

How to Book / Quotes and Reservations

Bookings can be made on our website or by email melanie@straddieaccomm.com.au or by calling our friendly Reservations team on 0418 859 564 or +61 418859564 for international callers. All reservations will be guaranteed with a credit card that will remain valid until you have departed. A bond will be held for each booking.

Deposit

To confirm you want to come and stay at our beautiful Island. All online bookings must pay a 50% deposit at time of booking. Payment must be received by Credit Card to confirm the booking. Payment of this deposit will indicate acceptance of these booking conditions.

Balance of accommodation must be paid 60 days prior to booking date. If booking accommodation inside 60 days full payment will be required.

Booking Fee

The booking fee is non-refundable on all bookings and is subject to change without notice.

Rental Rates

Rental rates are subject to change without notice, this includes any property upgrades, renovations, instructions from the owner or genuinely misquoted accommodation rates.

Amendments to Date or Property

Unfortunately amendments can be tricky to move but we will try and assist

Low Season – Up to 30 days prior to check in – $100 amendment fee to change dates (subject to availability on the same property).

Mid or High Season – Amendments not accepted.
If a guest cancels a confirmed booking less than 90 days prior to check in, no refund shall be made unless the premise is re-let for the total period of the proposed occupancy, in which case a service fee of 10% of the total booking amount will be charged.

No refund is made on the unused portion of rent, if guests vacate the property prior to their departure date.

In the event of advance bookings being cancelled by the owner and/or agent, a full refund will apply.

Due consideration will be given, in consultation with the owner, to any cancellation at any time occasioned by exceptional circumstances.

We cannot accept responsibility for actions taken by the owner of the premises outside our control and we reserve the right to cancel any booking as per the owner’s instruction.

In the event, we will notify you as soon as possible and do our best to arrange other accommodation or dates suitable to you, failing which all deposit monies paid will be refunded but no other claim, right or action or demand shall exist in or be made by either party.

Bookings are taken by the agent in good faith, however, the guest acknowledges that the agent does not own the property and that the owner may instruct the agent to cancel or ask the guest to amend the booking dates at any time up to the day of check in.

If the Property becomes unavailable for your occupancy due to unforeseen circumstances (eg. fire, storm, damage, etc) then Management will inform you immediately and endeavour to obtain suitable alternative accommodation for your stay, failing which any moneys paid will be refunded in full.

Cancelled or Terminated Bookings

A cancellation or termination fee of 10% of the total accommodation costs will apply under any and all circumstances.

If the property is re-let for the total period booked by you, only the cancellation fee will be charged and the balance will be refunded.

If the property is not re-let for the total period booked by you the deposit paid WILL NOT be refunded.

For any short stay bookings a cancellation fee of 10% of the total accommodation fees will be payable if the property is re-let for the total period booked by you, otherwise there will be no refund on short stays.

Security Deposit

There will be a $1,000 security deposit applied to the nominated credit card at the beginning of your stay.  This will be refunded in full after the check out and linen service has been completed.

Booking Arrangements

The person affecting a booking shall be deemed to have accepted the booking conditions on behalf of all persons in the booking.

Check-in

Standard check-in is 2pm however should you require alternative assistance please contact us to coordinate.

We will endeavour to provide contactless lock box key entry upon arrival for arrival outside of our standard office closing hours of 5.30 pm please contact us.

Check-out

Check out time is strictly 10am. As we employ contract cleaners there is no flexibility that allows for a later check out. A late check out fee will automatically be debited to the credit card of the guest for a late check out and the guest hereby authorises the manager to do so.
Keys must be returned to the lock box or handed over at the scheduled meeting time or charges will apply

Car Parking

Please park in garaging or car space provided do not park on lawns or naturestrips.

Cleaning and Linen

Cleaning and linen is paid for with your booking.

Please ensure that the property is left clean and tidy when vacating. All crockery and utensils must be washed and placed back in the cupboards. All furniture must be left in the same position as it was upon check in.

Charges will be made for any additional cleaning or relocating of furniture in the property and any missing items from the inventory.
All rubbish and bottles must be removed from the property and placed in the rubbish bins provided prior to vacating. Any excess items left in the property will incur an additional charge. Ensure you have removed all personal effects turned off lights, air conditioners and ceiling fans. BBQ must be cleaned if it has been used.

Credit Cards

We accept MasterCard, Visa 1.75 % surcharge will apply.

In the event of any accounts (e.g. telephone accounts, hiring charges, cleaning charges, breakages, damage to the property missing items etc) being unpaid and becoming payable, you authorise us to charge those accounts to you utilizing the credit card provided All charges are subject to our discretion. This authority is valid for sixty (60) days after the last day of your stay.

Damages, Breakages and Losses

All damages, breakages or losses to the property, furniture and furnishings are to be reported to the agent by the guest immediately. Should you discover a default or breakage or maintenance/safety issue when you arrive, please advise our office or we will consider those the responsibility of the current guest and charge accordingly.
When a guest registers or an invitee of a guest enters the premises, they are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these conditions. Guests and invitees are expected to behave in a manner, which is conducive to the safety, comfort and convenience of other guests within the property.
In the event that the property has been either damaged (whether such damage is willful or not) the manager without reference will enter a debit on the credit card of the guest and the guest hereby authorises the manager to do so.

Functions

The properties we manage are for residential accommodation only. Sorry you can’t have parties, wedding or functions as they are not permitted and penalties apply. Schoolies are strictly not permitted and immediate termination will apply.

Keys

Keys to your property will be provided by contactless lockbox or a pre arranged meeting place. For security reasons lost keys will incur a complete re-key of the locks at the guests expense.

An additional charge of $120 will apply for any remote controls which are lost or damaged.

Lock Out Procedure

Oops don’t lose your keys or a $150 fee will be charged if the agent is called out between 7pm and 8am due to misplaced or lost keys to gain access to the property. Please contact the agency on 0418859564 to gain access.

Loss, Damage or Theft of Guests property

The Agent/Owner takes no responsibility for personal property. This establishment or proprietor of the property shall not be liable to any guests or invitees for any loss, damage or destruction to the property or any personal property brought upon these premises by the said guest or invitee. Without limiting the foregoing, personal property shall include jewellery, money and other personal effects and motor vehicles parked on premises. Guests are strongly advised to seek their own travel insurance.

Noise

We know you are on holidays and feel like celebrating which by all means you can but guests shall not create any noise to interfere with the peaceful enjoyment of owners or occupiers of any other property or any person lawfully using common property. Guests of all properties shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that their invitees do not behave in a manner likely to interfere with the peaceful enjoyment of occupiers of any other unit or surrounding home.

Office Hours

Our office hours are from 8.30am to 5.30pm. Closed Christmas Day.

Pets

Sorry no pets are permitted on the premises. Unless you have prior approval. If you have prior approval only one pet is permitted and they need to stay outside and behave themselves please.

Property for Sale

In the event the property is offered for sale the tenant agrees to allow the owner or agent reasonable access to inspect the property with prospective purchasers during reasonable hours by appointment.
Under 18’s
All clients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or an individual over the age of 18.
We have the right to refuse any booking, when the legal guardian over 18 cannot provide current photo ID if requested on check-in.

Travel Insurance

We recommend you take out travel insurance to protect yourself in the case of cancellation or lost belongings.
